Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy for headaches and Migraines

Infusion Therapy

Headache infusion therapy is an alternative treatment for patients with severe headaches. Infusion therapy consists of administering intravenous (IV)  medications to treat and manage the symptoms of headache.

The drugs used in headache infusions target the proteins that initiate the different events that cause migraines. No other treatment can do that. The infusion calms the overactive nerve endings to reduce the irritation that initiates a migraine attack. Once those proteins are blocked, it stops of the cascade of events that result in migraine pain.
